More
For more than 20 years, Florio Design has collaborated with 1285 Gallery director Colin Thomson and a dynamic range of sponsoring non-profit art and cultural organizations on each of the gallery’s exhibits—75 and still counting! For each, Florio Design develops unique branding epressed on invitations, brochures, title panels, press materials, and identification labels for the artwork. The visual diversity inspires markedly varied approaches to the design and installation—ranging from fantasy 3-D urban gardens to contemporary works by women artists.
This gallery was originally conceived by Donald Marron, the past chairman of PaineWebber, to showcase collections of not-for-profit visual arts organizations in the New York City area. These have included the Museum for African Art, International Print Center, Art in General, Studio in a School, Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and the International Center for Photography among others. UBS continued the tradition for several years, and the gallery is now hosted by 1285 building management with sponsorship by Jones Lang LaSalle.
